For High School Job Shadows:
- Approval: Any and all shadows must be coordinated through your guidance counselor with a phone call, email or personal meeting. You cannot just walk in and follow us around for a day. It needs to be a structured visit with an approved date, time, and duration.
- Structure: For your shadow please dress accordingly as you are a professional for the day and are in fact representing Green-Eyed Girl as you encounter clients, customers, sit in with brides and party planners, etc. Your professionalism is important. A few things are expected to happen during your job shadow:
- We expect you to come prepared with your school assignment folder that has the project outline, interview questions for us to answer, and hours docket for us to sign. Don't forget to bring your camera to document your visit!
- At some point we will get to sit down and go over what you experienced in your day with us and answer your questions. This is usually the last 10-60 minutes of your shadow depending on our time and structure.
- Experience: Each shadow can last anywhere from 4 hours to 30 minutes depending on what you are observing on that particular day. You may be actually following us around for daily routines which may or may not include client interactions at all. You may be scheduled to sit in on a crucial Wedding Planning meeting (typically in the evening) with a couple that lasts only 30-60 minutes. Either way we will allow a de-briefing time before and after the shadow to ensure that you are getting the full benefit of your experience with Green-Eyed Girl.
- Thank you: We love that you want to come down and spend time with us! Thank you for choosing Green-Eyed Girl as your inspiration and know that we are truly honored and excited to have you work with us on any day. This is a great job and we hope to show you just that!
